The Seminole Indians were a tribe of runaway indians from the Creek Confederation of tribes. Hence the name 'Seminole', meaning runaway. They lived in Florida, then owned by the British, and were bothered about leaving and who's land was who's. Then it was Spain's, who really didn't care what the Seminoles did. Then...America claimed it as our own, and we went to war with the natives. We trod on their land and killed like nobody's business. And the Seminoles beleive that if the land dies so do the people. And the land has indeed been long gone.
